Prayer & Care

The Prayer and Care team actively ministers to the needs of our congregation and their loved ones.

The Prayer and Care ministry is an active and vital extension in support of our congregation and friends who are in need of prayer or are ill at the hospital or at home.

The team meets weekly during which individual prayer requests are read and prayed over. Each prayer request is followed up with a personal letter of encouragement.

We believe this act of two or more being gathered together focused on prayer requests provides powerful support to those who have need for assistance.

The Prayer and Care team prays over the requests for 30 days. The requests are then forwarded to Silent Unity for an additional 30 days of intensive attention.

Prayer requests are held in confidence. They are only viewed by those on the Prayer and Care Team and those at Silent Unity.

Members of the Prayer and Care team also make regular visits to our ill congregation members and their friends and family. These visits are followed up by cards, telephone calls and emails. Team members also visit our bereaved.

The Prayer and Care team also helps with light housework, grocery shopping, cooking meals and offering rides to doctor appointments.

They also assist with transfers and hospital discharges for members of our congregation who live alone and have no family nearby.

The Prayer and Care team is a nurturing and supportive component of the Unity of Fremont family, and the essence of our function is to be there for those who experience crisis in life.

Please feel free to tap into this resource whenever a need arises. All are invited to request prayers for any need. No need is too small, too big or too urgent.

If you have a concern on your heart or mind, call the church office (510-797-5234) to leave a confidential prayer request or click here to send an email message. If you would like a follow-up letter of encouragement, please include your address.

And remember. You are not alone. Unity of Fremont will support you.
